This is our excellent new high-performing Offset Soapbar P90-Bucker, with it's dynamic 100% single coil sound it sounds heaps better than our non-event Sidewinder, and at $149 it's not expensive considering it is an excellent sounding noiseless P-90.

It is no deeper than a regular P-90 and will definitely fit all P-90 cavities, absolutely no routing needed. It sounds exactly like our 100% single coil sounding P90-Bucker which is a standard sized humbucker and that's really saying something.  Also available in our Twang-Bucker design with Alnico rod magnets.

Also, this new Offset Soapbar is available with 53mm pole spacing  .... as well as 50mm and 47.5mm pole spacings that provides perfect string-over-pole alignment regardless of bridge spacing.  We supply the appropriate pole spacing according to the bridge specified in your order.

Technical & Application info:

 

  • Optional two -or- three mounting screws for precise control over height, tilt and slant adjustments for optimum performance.
  • Optional Kinman Universal Soapbar cover for Gibson guitars -or- Korean Generic cover for other brands
  • Optional Non-Magnetic mounting plate (illustrated below) is designed to accept 2 or 3 mounting screws.

Installation

Consider including our optional non-magnetic mounting plate kit, it makes install fast n easy because you don't have to drill holes in the precise position for the pickups mounting screws in cavity floors.

Connections

  • Bare wires for soldering.
  • Kinman connectors for plugging into a Kinman Strat, Tele or KHP-90 No-Soldering harness.
  • Gibson 2 wire & 5 wire Quick Connect circuit board connectors shown below.

Output Polarity: 

  • in-phase with all other Kinman pickups
  • in-phase with Gibson and Copy humbuckers
  • opposite phase to Fender

Pot & Capacitor values

  • Best with 250k Ohm for Volume.  Many Gibson's have 300k which is OK too. 500k causes thinner sound.
  • Normal Tone pot is 500k however to maximize clarity use a No-Load or alternatively a 1 Meg Ohm tone pot.
  • Normal tone cap value of 0.022µF in 63 ~ 100 volt Polyester.  Smaller value lessen the severity of Treble cut, higher values increase it.

Cavity depth

  • No need to deepen the pickup cavity in ANY guitar that has normal cavities for P-90's. 

Pole spreads

  • 53mm pole spread for bridge position of Stratocasters or with any bridge having saddle spread of 54+mm.
  • 50mm for Gibsons or bridges having saddle spread of 50mm ~ 54mm.
  • 47.5mm for neck position of Gibsons and Epiphones.  Assures perfect string-over-magnet alignment.

Covers

  • Kinman Universal Soapbar covers in genuine Gibson Cream, Warm White, Aged White and Black suitable for all 3 pole spreads.
  • Generic Korean covers
    • 53mm pole spread for bridge position in Stratocasters Cream and Black only.
    • 50mm pole spread available in White, Black, Cream and Chrome.
    • 47.5mm pole spreads available in Black & Cream only.
  • Not suitable for Dog-Ear covers

Hook-up cable

  • The Budget P90-Bucker Soapbar has 3 conductor cable so it's phase reversible to match any other pickup.
  • Length is 380mm / 15".

Mounting hardware

  • 2 or 3 Long 3-48 UNC mounting screws, Phillips drive.
  • 2 or 3 Silicon Rubber tube springs.
  • handy drill guide template for positioning the screw holes in the virgin floor of the pickup cavity of a project guitar or guitars with freshly deepened cavities.
  • OPTIONAL extra:  Soap-bar cavity mounting plate, including all screws and springs.
